If you’re a horror fan who has Time Warner or Brighthouse Cable, you noticed a disturbance in the Force within the last couple weeks. The cable subscribers dropped FEARnet from their on-demand channels (read our article on the matter HERE), which for me meant that any hopes I had of watching WARLOCK III or PRINCE OF DARKNESS in the middle of the night were killed instantly. But maybe, just maybe, if we get enough of us crazies united, we can convince these foolish cable honchos that we needs our FEARnet!
A Facebook petition has been started called HORROR FANS – STAND UP AND UNITE! The express purpose is to sell Time Warner and Brighthouse on the idea that FEARnet, in its brief run, was beloved and desired. Like any love, it wasn’t perfect (sometimes there were some really lousy movies available), but hell, it brought us our first good look at MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN, resurrected “Fear Itself” and when I last saw, made accessible a slew of John Carpenter flicks and the first two FRIDAY THE 13th’s. That’s got to count for something.
So if you’re on Facebook, head on over HERE to sign up! Hell, even if you’re not on Facebook, create a free account just so you can put your vote in. C’mon, admit it, you liked just knowing ARMY OF DARKNESS or LEPRECHAUN 4 was at your fingertips…
