The official Tribeca Film Festival ’09 site has premiered the first picture from Michael Cuesta’s TELL TALE, starring Josh Lucas, Brian Cox, and my future wife, Lena Headey. The film is loosely – very loosely – based on Edgar Allan Poe’s brilliant “The Tell-Tale Heart”. The site also provides a new synopsis:

Terry (Josh Lucas) is a struggling single father, abandoned by his wife years earlier, who prides himself on taking good care of his young daughter. His life is finally looking up after he recently received a successful heart transplant, and he is even falling in love with a beautiful doctor (Lena Headey). But then the headaches start. And the visions. The new heart inside Terry seems to be beating to a horrifying drummer of its own. Haunted by its violent past, the heart begins to take hold of Terry, leading the young father on a frantic and harrowing search to find the donor’s killer before he meets a similar fate.

TELL TALE was produced by Ridley and Tony Scott, and written by Dave Callaham (THE HORSEMEN). It currently does not have a set theatrical release date, but folks going to the Tribeca Film Festical will be able to check it out when it premieres there. (Although it doesn’t have a set date for the fest yet either. Tribeca runs from APRIL 22 to MAY 3.)
