Strangers 2 director?

French director Laurent Briet is close to becoming the director of THE STRANGERS 2, according to Bloody Disgusting. Briet is, naturally, a music video and t.v. commercial helmer, having worked on ads for Calvin Klein, Sprint, and Mercedes-Benz. You know, real horrific stuff.

Apparently, the sequel takes place in a trailer park. I’m going to guess it’s so they have more victims to murder, thus turning it into a standard slasher. Wonder if Rob Zombie was the first choice to direct, he’s usually voted “most likely to have senseless murders occur in a white-trash location”.

The screenplay was written by Bryan Bertino, who directed the effective – if unremarkable – original. He’s busy prepping another film for Rogue Pictures at the moment. Will Liv Tyler return to save the day? My guess is hell no, but ya never know…

Color me uninterested in this cash-grab.
