Well we knew this was coming, so no surprises here: Dimension Films has pushed back Alex Aja’s PIRANHA 3D to MARCH 19, 2010. It’s not the usual “We don’t know what the hell to do with this movie!” shtick from Dimension though; this is simply to allow for more pre-production. Shooting will begin this Spring in Lake Havasu, although no cast is known. The screenplay comes from SORORITY ROW writers Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger, as well as Aja and his frequent collaborator Grégory Levasseur.
Whereas in the original we were dealing with genetically-altered piranhas, the buggers are apparently released after an earthquake in the remake.
Bite this, ya fish.
