Looks like horror is rearing its ugly head some more on t.v. We’ve already got FEAR ITSELF to look forward to this June, and now comes the news there’s a slasher show on its way! Now that I’ll plop myself mindlessly in front of the boob-tube for!
The show is called HARPER’S ISLAND and it’s described as “Scream” meets “10 Little Indians” and revolves around a group of friends who are terrorized when they meet on an island off the Seattle coast for a destination wedding.
The show will be run by Jeffrey Bell (THE X-FILES, ALIAS); the pilot was written by Ari Schlossberg (HIDE AND SEEK) and will be directed by Jon Turtletaub, currently best known as the helmer of those oh-so-awful (and oh-so-profitable) NATIONAL TREASURE movies.
Most television is boring and predictable, so this sounds very promising in the early-going (mostly because – I swear it – I had the idea for a slasher-based t.v. show years ago. Damn you irony! Or is it fate? I dunno – it’s someone’s fault though!).
At least National Treasure has Diane Kruger going for it…
