I must admit I’ve been a big fan of the PROJECT GREENLIGHT series ever since it was conceived. So when it turned out that this season was going genre I was psyched. And boy has it been a doozy.
Throughout the process director John Gulager has been a weird, paranoid, insecure and moody presence on a troubled shoot, but you always get the feeling he’ll deliver something really cool. One of the main folks helping him keep his head from exploding this season is producer Joel Soisson who sat down and chatted with Moviehole.net and shared some interesting tidbits about where FEAST is now.
So “Feast” is finished, right? How’s it looking?
“Feast” is finished but except for an opening. The test audience loved the movie but wanted to know where our monsters came from. We never even thought to suggest an origin. Now we’re busy trying to figure out where they come from before shooting a new opening.
Is “Project Greenlight”, or even “Feast”, going to be affected by the Weinsteins split from Miramax?
There was a lot of concern during the production but it turns out that “Feast” was one of only a handful of movies Bob and Harvey decided to take with them.
Sounds pretty good. You can check out the rest of the interview here.
And let me finish with a couple of quick thoughts on this season:
1 – If I could grab a drink with one person from the show it would definitely be Chris Moore. How can you not love that guy?
2 – I never would have thought a casting director could make me throw things at my TV.
3 – I was becoming a Krista Allen fan from watching UNSCRIPTED on HBO, and felt bad for her that her soft-porn past was so tough to escape. That symapathy has evaporated after watching her juvenile diva antics on the set. I’ll still post pics of her of course.
In fact, let’s all feast on one now!
