Spielberg loves JoBlo.com!

Last Updated on May 31, 2022

I hate to post an article just on this, which could come off as back-patting or bragging, but it’s so damn cool I just couldn’t resist! I was already juiced up to interview both Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise, but my day, week, month, YEAR was made when the man who inspired me to do what I do every day, gave a little back. It’s been many years since I first saw RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK and the fire was lit under my ass. That was when I realized I LOVED movies. Flash-forward to now and I actually get to meet and interview the man. Here’s what happened as I introduced myself:

ME: Hi, I’m Mike Sampson from JoBlo.com.

Tom Cruise: Hi.

Steven Spielberg: Oh, I love JoBlo.com.

ME: Really?!

Spielberg: Yeah!

Listen for yourself to the audio clip

My mind was literally blown. I couldn’t believe that the man behind the movies like JAWS, INDIANA JONES, CLOSE ENCOUNTERS and all those other classics even READS this site, let alone loves it. It was a honor to say the least. So if you’re out there reading this Steven, thank YOU. Not just for your kind words but because without you, I wouldn’t be here. OK, enough self-congratulating. Back to work!!
