Pennywise: The Story of IT exclusive clip looks at the casting of Tim Curry

Following a limited theatrical run earlier this month, Pennywise: The Story of It – a documentary crafted by directors John Campopiano (Unearthed & Untold: The Path to Pet Sematary) and Christopher Griffiths (Leviathan: The Story of Hellraiser) – is now set to be released through TVOD platforms like Apple, Prime Video, Google, and VUDU, as well as on horror streaming channel Screambox, on July 26th. With that date drawing near, we’re proud to share an EXCLUSIVE clip from the documentary that looks at the casting of the legendary Tim Curry as the iconic, terrifying clown Pennywise! One of the greatest casting decisions ever made. Check it out in the embed above.

Pennywise: The Story of It includes

interviews with many of the key players behind Pennywise, as well as an exploration of what went into creating the It films, including casting, production, and practical effects.

Campopiano produced Pennywise: The Story of It with Gary Smart, Adam Evans, Michael Perez, and Hank Starrs. Laurence Gornall, Brady William Dorman, Michael Leavy, and Jason Leavy serve as executive producers.

Yolanda Macias, Chief Content Officer at distributor Cinedigm, provided the following statement:

From red balloons to yellow rain jackets, the groundbreaking miniseries pushed boundaries and still has a lasting impact on the genre to this day. Even three decades after its release, It and the child-eating clown Pennywise scares audiences of all ages. We are excited to take horror fans on this terrifying journey back to the not so sleepy town of Derry.”

The story of It began, of course, with the epic Stephen King novel that was first published in 1986. You can pick up a copy of the novel at THIS LINK.
