Halloween: The Game is getting its first major post-launch content update later this month, and IllFonic is expanding the game beyond John Carpenter’s 1978 classic. On October 27, 2026, players will be able to take Michael Myers into a brand-new map inspired by Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, while two new versions of The Shape will also be available as paid DLC.

The update will add the Tower Farm map for free to everyone who owns Halloween: The Game. Players will also have the option to purchase Michael Myers as he appears in Halloween 5 and the 2018 Halloween, along with two new civilian characters and a new Halloween costume pack. That gives Halloween: The Game quite a bit more to play with barely a month after its September launch.

What is included in the first Halloween: The Game DLC?

The biggest addition is Tower Farm, the game’s fifth map. Inspired by the rural setting of Halloween 5, the map moves away from the suburban streets that have defined much of Halloween: The Game so far. A lit filling station serves as the central landmark, while country roads, cornfields, farmhouses, barns, sheds, hay bales, and roadside ditches create a very different environment for the game’s 1v4 multiplayer matches.

The open layout should make Tower Farm interesting for both Michael Myers and the civilians. There are fewer solid structures to block the killer’s line of sight, leaving civilians more exposed when they’re moving between locations. At the same time, the map provides ditches, buildings, farm equipment, and other places to break Michael’s pursuit.

The map also includes a harvest festival, trailer park, pumpkin-filled gardens, and other autumnal touches that should make Tower Farm feel right at home in a game arriving just before Halloween. And unlike the character DLC, Tower Farm will be free for everyone who owns the game.

Halloween: The Game is adding two new Michael Myers skins

The October 27 update also expands the game’s collection of Michael Myers appearances with versions based on Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers and Halloween (2018). Each Michael Myers skin will cost $9.99.

The 2018 Michael Myers design is notable because its mask is being overseen by Academy Award-winning special effects artist Christopher Nelson, who sculpted the mask used in Halloween (2018), Halloween Kills, and Halloween Ends.

IllFonic is working with Trancas International Films and Miramax to bring these additional versions of Michael into the game.

Two new civilians are joining Halloween: The Game

IllFonic is also adding two new civilian characters, Michelle and Eugene. The pair will be sold together in a $9.99 Civilian Characters Pack.

There will also be a new costume pack for players who want to customize the game’s civilian characters. The Halloween Costumes pack costs $9.99 and includes 14 outfits, one for each character, with 42 color variations.

Halloween: The Game is already getting bigger after launch

Halloween: The Game launched in September as an asymmetrical multiplayer experience based primarily on John Carpenter’s 1978 classic, with one player taking the role of Michael Myers while four others attempt to survive as civilians.

When Steve Seigh reviewed the game for JoBlo, he praised its atmosphere and its ability to make players feel like they’re participating in a Halloween movie, while finding the civilian side of the multiplayer experience less satisfying. You can read Steve’s full review of Halloween: The Game here.

Michael Conway had a more positive experience after launch, particularly with the Day One Patch. He praised the game’s atmosphere, matchmaking, Story Mode, and the way IllFonic translated Michael’s abilities into gameplay. You can read Michael’s second-opinion review of Halloween: The Game here.

When does the Halloween: The Game DLC release?

The first post-launch content update for Halloween: The Game will be released on October 27, 2026. Here’s what players can expect:

  • Tower Farm map: Free
  • Halloween 5 Michael Myers: $9.99
  • Halloween (2018) Michael Myers: $9.99
  • Michelle and Eugene Civilian Characters Pack: $9.99
  • Halloween Costumes Pack: $9.99
  • 14 outfits and 42 color variations: Included with the costume pack
  • Additional features, fixes, and quality-of-life improvements: Free

The Tower Farm map is the most substantial addition because it will be available to the entire player base. Keeping the map free should also help ensure that the community doesn’t become divided between players who own the new content and those who don’t.

IllFonic says this is only the first of a series of post-launch content updates planned for Halloween: The Game throughout its first year.

“1978 was only the beginning,” said IllFonic Chief Creative Officer Jared Gerritzen. “With the Tower Farm map, we take the terror of that first event in Haddonfield into somewhere wide open, where there’s nowhere to hide except in the dark – where Michael Myers truly comes to life.”
