Avatar Passes Avengers: Endgame for All-Time Global Box Office Champ

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

avatar avengers: endgame box officeAll hail Pandora! James Cameron's epic extraterrestrial opus, Avatar, has just stolen the all-time global box office Infinity Stone from Avengers: Endgame! The tall blue ones re-released in China on Friday and have already taken in an estimated $8.9 million which was enough to pass the $7.82 million lead Tony Stark and friends had. As of right now, Avatar's global total is an estimated $2,798,579,794 and Endgame‘s $2,797,501,328.

I mean, I guess congratulations are in order? It feels a little cheap that Avatar retook the title by releasing again 12 years later, but I suppose movie ticket prices may have increased over that time? The Avatar sequels have some big shoes to fill. This now begs the question: is anyone still super interested in going back to Pandora? It's been quite a while since the first one and I have to admit that my interest has kind of faded away. However, this IS James Cameron and the dude knows how to entertain. Please, let me know in the comments below because I'm genuinely curious.
