Now that the second season of Daredevil: Born Again is a wrap, Marvel is ready to focus squarely on its next hard-boiled superhero series, Spider-Noir. Prime Video unveiled the final set of trailers for the gritty, comical detective story on Tuesday, showcasing the show’s plot and villains. As is customary, the trailers are available in both black-and-white and color, allowing audiences to choose the show’s look and feel. I want to watch Spider-Noir, but I know my wife will insist on watching it in color. I’ll likely do both, but I’ll feel dirty watching the colorized version first.
Spider-Noir premieres on May 25, 2026, on MGM+, followed by its global release on Prime Video on May 27, 2026, where all 8 episodes will drop at once.
What Happens in the New Spider-Noir Trailer?
In Spider-Noir, Nicolas Cage plays Ben Reilly, an aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who must grapple with his past life as the city’s only superhero. In the trailer, Reilly uses his powers to square off against an Irish mob boss (Brendan Gleeson), Silvermane, and his cronies. The new trailers find Ben struggling to accept his identity while refusing to use every trick in his arsenal to solve crime. Eventually, he learns that his powers are a gift, and with great power comes great responsibility. The trailer also showcases several villains under Silvermane’s control, including one made of sand!
Cage on Spider-Noir Having Two Formats
Speaking with Cage in February about the dual-format presentation of Spider-Noir, the Spider-Verse voice actor said, “The truth is, they both work and they’re beautiful for different reasons,” Cage tells Esquire. “The color is super saturated and gorgeous. I think teenage viewers will appreciate the color, but I also want them to have the option. If they want to experience the concept in black and white, maybe that would instill some interest in them to look at earlier movies and enjoy that as an art form as well.”
