D23 is officially underway in Anaheim, and our correspondent Mike Conway is on the ground sending dispatches back our way. So far, the reveals have been low-key, with Anne Hathaway revealing the studio is hard at work on getting The Princess Diaries right, while the studio also showed a rough animated sequence from The New Simpsons Movie, which is now set for a September 3rd, 2027 release date. But the big news so far is that The Incredibles 3, directed by Elemental’s Peter Sohn, is set for a June 16th, 2028 release from Pixar.
Sohn dropped a few hints about the sequel, with it set in a world where supers are now legal following the events of the last film. While the whole Parr family will be back, the third film will focus on the kids, Violet and Dash, who have to step up and prove they can be true superheroes, and learn to manage Jack-Jack’s unwieldy powers.

Pixar introduces Ghost Market
In addition to teasing Incredibles 3, Pixar announced a brand-new feature film project called Ghost Market. The studio’s new supernatural thriller follows a young boy who enters a hidden market that is the crossroads of the living and the dead. Trevor Jimenez directs Ghost Market, known for his Oscar-nominated Pixar short film Weekends. According to Fandom, the project was initially conceived as an original animated series for Disney+ (developed in tandem with creative team members behind Pixar’s series Win or Lose) before being retooled into a full-scale theatrical feature. Pixar says Ghost Market should arrive in theaters in Spring 2028.
Coco 2 gets plot details and a release date
Also on display at D23 is Pixar’s Coco 2, which Pixar revealed features an older Miguel. The film picks up several years after the original, with Miguel, now a teenager, pulled back into the unpredictable Land of the Dead. Benjamin Bratt returns as the voice of Ernesto de la Cruz, the disgraced Mexican musician seeking revenge against Miguel for foiling his plans in the first film.
Lee Unkrich and co-director Adrian Molina return to helm the sequel, with Pixar targeting a November 21, 2029, release date. Fans can also look forward to Coco coming to Kingdom Hearts IV. The Pixar original film will get a dedicated level in the new game, and we can’t wait to see it!
