During Marvel‘s portion of Disney’s D23 celebration, the studio, built on the backs of superheroes, debuted a stunning trailer for its upcoming series, VisionQuest. The eight-episode miniseries premieres exclusively on Disney+ on October 14, 2026, and I’m blown away by how awesome it looks!
Executive-produced and showrun by Terry Matalas (Star Trek: Picard), the series serves as the conclusion of the trilogy that began with WandaVision (2021) and continued with Agatha All Along (2024).
A Ghost in Search of a Soul
After regaining his memories from the hex-born Vision, White Vision flew off in search of his purpose. All is well for Vision as he goes into hiding to live a quiet life. However, the tranquil silence is shattered when a bounty is placed on his head. As physical, personified manifestations of past AI systems and programs created by Tony Stark pursue him, Vision partners with Ultron (James Spader) to escape their grasp and finally take control of his life.
VisionQuest stars Paul Bettany as White Vision/Vision, James Spader as Ultron, Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy Maximoff/Speed, James D’Arcy as J.A.R.V.I.S., Orla Brady as F.R.I.D.A.Y., Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H., T’Nia Miller as Jocasta, and more.
Ugh! Why do I need to wait until October to watch this series? Up until tonight, I knew very little about VisionQuest, other than it caps off the trilogy started by 2021’s WandaVision. Now that I’ve seen the trailer, I’m counting the days until this comes out. The show’s aesthetic is working for me, and I’m surprised at how invested I’ve become in Vision’s story and happiness throughout the years. No one should need to walk through the world not knowing who they truly are, and although Vision will need to try harder than most to make a new life for himself, I know he’s more than capable of figuring everything out.

Oh, and can we talk about James Spader’s epic beard? I want to take a nap in it. It’s an interesting look for the character, and I look forward to seeing how Vision comes to terms with the rogue AI becoming his companion throughout the series. I have so many questions, and can’t wait to get answers in October!
