After helping to make global box office history with Spider-Man: Brand New Day, director Destin Daniel Cretton is officially partnering with Paramount Pictures to bring the classic ’60s TV series Hawaii Five-0 to the big screen.
According to The Dish (via Deadline), Cretton will helm the feature film adaptation based on a script written by Bad Boys for Life‘s scribe Chris Bremner. Former Netflix executive Noah Oppenheim is on board to produce the high-profile project.

Sony will almost certainly lock him down for an inevitable Spider-Man sequel, and he still has a massive live-action Naruto adaptation sitting in active development. One thing’s for sure: I wouldn’t count on getting a Shang-Chi sequel anytime soon, which remains an absolute crying shame.
