We haven't really seen a whole lot from Matt Reeves' DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES lately, but thanks to the folks over at Empire they have shared a pretty fantastic behind-the-scenes look at the film. The new picture sheds a light on how the on screen apes come to life through the process of motion-capture, showing the true meaning of movie magic. With the release of DAWN only a few months away, expect to be seeing a lot more from this one!

DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES will be hitting theaters later this year on July 11 with Andy Serkis, Keri Russell, Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Judy Greer, and Jocko Sims starring.

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
