I was already looking forward to SHERLOCK HOLMES: GAME OF SHADOWS as it’s one film I didn’t mind getting a sequel. But now there might be an entirely new reason to be anticipating its release.
According to Variety, there is a possibility that there will be both a DARK KNIGHT RISES trailer and a HOBBIT teaser ahead of the film. Often times studios will put their most anticipated trailers in front of big films, but two at once? It’s a must see.
This would seem to be different than the six minute DARK KNIGHT RISES into sequence that will accompany IMAX prints of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCOL, and it would seem to indicate that it would be our first full length trailer that would feature more than just Gary Oldman in a bed and scenes from old movies.
As for THE HOBBIT? That one might be more up in the air, but I wouldn’t expect all that much if it’s claiming to be a teaser. Hopefully it’s more than just a few seconds of footage with a voiceover, but fans would probably clamor over that even if that was the case.
