A live-action Astro Boy is in the works

ASTRO BOY is heading back to the big screen and this time it’s with live-action in mind.

The last time we saw the character in a feature film, it was 2009 with Freddie Highmore providing the voice at Summit Entertainment in animated form. However, this time, it’s Warner Bros.’ New Line division looking to secure the right to the character for a live-action adventure to be penned by SAN ANDREAS writers Andre Fabrizio and Jeremy Passmore.

The popular manga/anime character was born in the 50s by Osamu Tezuka as a comic strip, but has remained a mainstay over the years with fans as the robot boy has continued using his superpowers to fight bad guys that have crossed his path.
