THANKSKILLING and THANKSKILLING 3 director Jordan Downey has a new genre film coming out soon, one that has a very different tone than Downey's killer turkey movies. His third feature is THE HEAD HUNTER, which is set to receive a theatrical and VOD release courtesy of Vertical Entertainment on April 5th.

THE HEAD HUNTER has the following synopsis:

On the outskirts of a kingdom, a quiet but fierce medieval warrior protects the realm from monsters and the occult. His gruesome collection of heads is missing only one – the monster that killed his daughter years ago. Driven by a thirst for revenge, he travels wild expanses on horseback, using sorcery to aid in his quest. When his second chance arrives, it’s in a way far more horrifying than he ever imagined. A heartbreaking fairytale with a black soul, the film is constructed with very few elements, minimalistic and epic at the same time, where fantasy and horror find their more physical and gory incarnations.

Christopher Rygh plays that medieval warrior, and this appears to be a one man show for the most part. The only other credited cast member is Cora Kaufman as the man's murdered daughter.

Downey wrote the screenplay with cinematographer Kevin Stewart, and the pair also produced the film with Ricky Fosheim.

I wasn't a fan of THANKSKILLING, but that doesn't seem to matter when it comes to THE HEAD HUNTER. This movie looks really interesting to me, so I'm looking forward to checking it out.
