A Quiet Place Part II delayed again, now aiming for September release

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Writer/director John Krasinski's A Quiet Place Part II was originally scheduled to reach theatres in March of 2020, but then the pandemic hit and the movie was pushed back to September of 2020. Then it was delayed again, moving to April 23, 2021. It's not going to make that release date, either. Paramount has announced that they are delaying A Quiet Place Part II for the third time, scheduling its theatrical release for September 17, 2021.

Paramount has sold several films to streaming outlets during the pandemic, but they remain determined to make A Quiet Place Part II a big screen release. With 65% of theatres in North America still closed, an April release was no longer looking like a viable option. Hopefully the situation will be in better shape by September.

The sequel to A Quiet Place (watch that one HERE) has the following synopsis:

Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.

Returning cast members Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe are joined by Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou. Krasinski also makes an appearance.

While we wait to see A Quiet Place Part II, Paramount has already hired Jeff Nichols to write and direct a third film in the series, working from an idea by Krasinski.
