There are no solid release dates to report for director Dan Bush's new thriller THE DARK RED at this time, but a trailer has arrived online to make us look forward to someday seeing this movie.

Scripted by Bush and Conal Byrne, the film stars April Billingsley and tells the following story:

Sybil is being held against her will in a psychiatric ward because her claims are extreme. She says her newborn baby was kidnapped by a secret society to harvest its supernatural blood. She says the ancient bloodline has great powers – it lets you hear other people’s thoughts. And she begs the doctors to let her go so she can rescue her child from the cult’s dungeons. Is she telling the truth, or is it just mere delusion?

The trailer has some great build-up and payoff, setting things up with dialogue scenes in the psychiatric ward and then shifting gears to show us some vengeful violence in the second half.

THE DARK RED has been making the festival rounds recently and is set to receive a theatrical release in the UK sometime in early 2020. The movie looks like a good time to me, so I'll be watching it for sure whenever it gets a release in the US.
