I’d let Julianne Moore suck my blood any day!
According to Variety, Ms. Moore (below) and youngster Abigail Breslin (right) have just signed on to star in a Gothic vampire film called INNOCENCE. The film, which is being shopped around at EFM in Berlin this month, will be directed by Hilary Brougher (STEPHANIE DALEY, THE STICKY FINGERS OF TIME).
Adapted from Jane Mendelsohn’s tome of the same name, INNOCENCE follows the story of a recently bereaved teenage girl (Breslin) who finds herself the focus of everyone’s attention at her elitist private school, which is home to a nest of vampires.
Hmm. Could this be TWILIGHT material or something a little darker? The fact it’s written by a woman, directed by a woman, in a story about a teen girl…well, I’m kinda getting a vibe for the former. Which isn’t a bad thing on its own (I’m actually glad to see women writers and directors get more of a voice), but it simply may a little light for us AITH goons. That being said, I’ve seen Julianne Moore in BENNY & JOON, so…
Until we hear more on INNOCENCE, let us know how it’s sounding to you so far.
