It was only the other day that Netflix debuted the first teaser trailer for Adam Wingard's upcoming live-action adaptation of the popular DEATH NOTE comic.
The trailer looked damn cool to me, and this news makes me anticipate the flick even more now. Turns out Wingard took to Twitter to let us all know that Atticus Ross and Leopold Ross are going to handle the score for the upcoming DEATH NOTE flick.

Atticus Ross (below) has, of course, contributed (along with fellow NIN frontman Trent Reznor) scores for such films as the David Fincher-directed THE SOCIAL NETWORK (which sounded like a straight-up horror flick) and THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO – another delightfully grim, horrific affair.
All of this to say I think we all agree that Ross knows his sh*t when it comes to a moody, creepy horror score. And that is just the thing DEATH NOTE might need to really bring it home as one of the top genre flicks of this year.
