AITH Horror Vids of the Week: Pin, Resident Evil, Scary Studies, Rob Zombie!

We have reached another Friday on this journey through 2020, and you know what that means. It's time for us to gather all of the latest additions to our JoBlo Horror YouTube channel (check it out and subscribe HERE) together in one place. It's the AITH HORROR VIDEOS OF THE WEEK!

This week started with an episode of BEST HORROR MOVIE YOU NEVER SAW that was all about the 1988 film PIN, then we kicked off the new series THE HORROR MOVIE THAT ALMOST WAS by pondering the version of RESIDENT EVIL that was going to be written and directed by George A. Romero, explored the concept of REVENGE MONSTERS for SCARY STUDIES, and took a look at the work Rob Zombie and Sheri Moon Zombie have done together for a new DEADLY DUOS. All of these videos can be seen below.

PIN (1988) – The Best Horror Movie You Never Saw

In this week's BEST HORROR MOVIE YOU NEVER SAW we bring light on Sandor Stern's little seen 1988 plastic "living" (or is it) doll creep-fest PIN starring David Hewlett, Cynthia Preston, Terry O'Quinn.

Here's the synopsis: Isolated by his strange parents, Leon finds solace in an imaginary friend, which happens to be an anatomy doll from his father's doctor office. Unfortunately, the doll begins to take over Leon's life, and his sister's life as well.

GEORGE A. ROMERO'S RESIDENT EVIL – The Horror Movie That Almost Was

In our new series, The Horror Movie That Almost Was, we take a look at what Zombie Maestro George A. Romero would have done with his own film adaptation of the video game series, "Resident Evil." Would it have lived up to his other zombie films? How would it have held up to the Paul W.S. Anderson version? We do our best to decipher it all and see just how much Romero would have brought to the table and why it didn't end up happening.

Series M.O.: In our new series THE HORROR MOVIE THAT ALMOST WAS we take a look at horror films that went deep into development, pre-production or actual production, to then nose dive and crash & burn. What happened? What went wrong? Did we miss out on some hidden gems, or did we dodge messy bullets? Let's find out!

REVENGE MONSTERS – Scary Studies

Written and narrated by Cody Meirick, director of the documentary about Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, Scary Studies aims to delve into the stories, the films, and the meanings behind the scary stories we tell ourselves.

The concept of making or invoking a monster for revenge has a long, storied history behind it. Bringing back Frankenstein to life or conjuring up a Golem monster are just the beginning of the stories that use such devices. We look at Harold (Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark), Creepshow, Tales from the Darkside, and Pumpkinhead to unravel the layers behind such revenge driven monsters.

ROB ZOMBIE + SHERI MOON ZOMBIE – Deadly Duos

This week, we examine the history and relationship between horrific husband and wife team, Rob and Sheri Moon Zombie. From their early days of music videos to creating grindhouse horror icons, this couple is proof the the couple that slays together, stays together.

Deadly Duos is Arrow in the Head’s series dedicated to featuring the iconic pairings of filmmakers who have worked together multiple times in horror films. Actors and directors, producers and composers, no matter the role or the era, every episode is a journey through the most beloved and classic (as well as obscure and forgotten) pairings that have made for the most memorable films in horror history.
