Aleks Paunovic is a simian soldier in War for the Planet of the Apes

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

"Aleks Paunovic" may not be a name you're familiar with, but even if you don't recognize the name, the 6'5" Canadian actor's career is doing just fine. He has 102 acting credits on his filmography, and he just added number 103: he has joined the cast of WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES, set to play a new ape character.

WAR is currently filming, with DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES director Matt Reeves back at the helm, working from a screenplay he co-wrote with Mark Bomback. What exactly the film's story is has yet to be revealed, but I suspect we're in for some large scale action.

Paunovic's co-stars include Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Gabriel Chavarria, Judy Greer, Karin Konoval, and Amiah Miller.

WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES will be invading theatres on July 14, 2017.
