Alice Eve and Thomas Middleditch take on Replicas with Keanu Reeves

Star Trek Into Darkness Alice Eve

It's been more than a year and half since it was announced that Keanu Reeves would be starring in the sci-fi thriller REPLICAS, and a few things have changed since then. Obviously one thing was the shooting schedule – having missed the intended spring 2015 production start, it's now expected to begin filming this summer.

Another major change is that previously announced director Tanya Wexler has since vacated the director's seat, with Jeffrey Nachmanoff taking over the helm.

When the project was first announced, screenwriter Chad St. John's only credit was the THE PUNISHER: DIRTY LAUNDRY short, but he has since contributed to the scripts for LONDON HAS FALLEN and the upcoming xXx: THE RETURN OF XANDER CAGE. The story he crafted for REPLICAS:

After a car accident kills his loving family, a daring neuroscientist will stop at nothing to bring them back, even if it means pitting himself against a government-controlled laboratory, a police task force, and the physical laws of science themselves.

Reeves has been set to play scientist Will Foster, and he has now been joined in the cast by Alice Eve (pictured above in STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS) and Thomas Middleditch (pictured below in THE FINAL GIRLS). Details on Middleditch's character were not revealed, but Eve will be playing Will Foster's wife Mona, who "dies in a car crash but then is cloned, allowing her memories and mind to live on."

REPLICAS sounds interesting to me, so I'm glad to see it moving forward and getting its cast assembled.
