THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE cast just got a little Nuts. Amanda Plummer has joined the cast as Wiress (aka Nuts).

Wiress is described as a quirky and eccentric character who does not communicate in traditional ways. Plummer is best known for her roles in THE FISHER KING and as Honey Bunny in PULP FICTION, so she knows how to play quirky She will join a growing cast that also includes the recently announced Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

Plot: THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

What do you HUNGER GAMES fans think of Plummer being cast as Wiress? So far, THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE is shaping up to be bigger than the first film in every possible way. Under the direction of Francis Lawrence, this should easily improve upon the original.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE opens in theaters November 22, 2013.
