Amy Adams never sleeps in teaser for thriller Nocturnal Animals

The marketing for writer/director Tom Ford's thriller NOCTURNAL ANIMALS began last week with something I'm not a fan of, something a lot of movies get these days, the "teaser for the teaser". A brief excerpt from a teaser trailer that is dropped online just to let people know that the full teaser will be arriving soon. Teasers themselves are usually so brief, to make teasers for teasers seems pointless to me.

But a teaser for NOCTURNAL ANIMALS' teaser was released nonetheless, providing a 20 second glimpse at what was on the way. The marketing department then made up for those shenanigans by releasing a teaser that is full trailer length, running 2 minutes. That lengthy teaser trailer can be seen below, and does its job by capturing my attention and getting me very interested in checking out this film, especially since it looks like it dabbles in Cormac McCarthy (NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN) territory.

The synopsis:

A successful Los Angeles art-gallery owner's idyllic life is marred by the constant traveling of her handsome second husband. While he is away, she is shaken by the arrival of a manuscript written by her first husband, who she has not seen in years. The manuscript tells the story of a teacher who finds a trip with his family turning into a nightmare. As Susan reads the book, it forces her to examine her past and confront some dark truths.

Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Armie Hammer, Michael Shannon, and Laura Linney star. NOCTURNAL ANIMALS, which our own Chris Bumbray gave a 9/10 review, is set to reach theatres on November 23, 2016.
