Amy Adams says she’s excited to see Henry Cavill return as Superman, but hasn’t been asked to return as Lois Lane

When Black Adam finally premiered, Dwayne Johnson has made it explicitly known that he has an immense interest in having his powerful anti-hero eventually going toe-to-toe with Superman in an ultimate battle of the gods. With this, Henry Cavill has taken to social media to announce that he is indeed returning to the role as the Man of Steel. DC film fans have rejoiced since the actor never fully got to shine amid criticisms from the early outings of the DCEU not living up to potential.

One person who is just as excited is Lois Lane herself, Amy Adams. Variety reports from the red carpet of the premiere of her new film, Disenchanted, which is set to release on Disney+. Adams, in an interview, expressed her enthusiasm over her former co-star returning to his iconic role,

Isn’t it exciting? I’m thrilled for [Cavill]. He’s such a wonderful Superman, so I’m very excited for him.”

Cavill is planned to also finally follow up with a true sequel to his first Superman film, Man of Steel. Adams, though, has added to her comment that no one has approached her yet to reprise her role as Lois Lane. “They haven’t spoken to me about it. If it’s me, great. If it’s somebody else, the role of Lois has been filled by so many wonderful actresses in the past, so I’ll support whatever direction they go.”

In addition, Cavill would expand on the details of his announcement in an interview with ScreenRant, “There is so much in the way of conversations to be had. Obviously, I have a very close connection to the character. There is something extraordinarily special about him, extraordinarily special about his capacity to give and to love. I don’t mean romantically; I mean his love for Earth and for the people who live here, and to make people feel powerful — to make people feel like Superman themselves.”
