Animal Planet developing animal zombie series The Other Dead

This zombie craze on television is getting even wilder as Variety is reporting that Animal Planet has plans to dabble in the world of the undead, but in a different fashion. The network has optioned the zombie animal story “The Other Dead” to be developed as a scripted series, which should prove to be an interesting take on zombies.

…set in Louisiana during the ‘next Hurricane Katrina’ and revolves around a world of undead animals and unrelenting storms.

I've yet to flip through an issue of "The Other Dead" but I've seen it at my local comic shop and was surprised to see several covers featuring President Obama. I've learned that Obama plays into the comics' storyline alongside an assorted cast of characters who fight to survive against nightmarish undead animals while beset by a hurricane in Louisiana. WTF?? Now I've really gotta read this series. I seriously doubt Animal Planet's scripted series will have the President as a character, but who knows? Guess we'll just have to wait it out and see.

"The Other Dead" is being eyed for a 2016 premiere. Insanity, I tell ya.
