Anne Hathaway & Rebel Wilson are cunning con artists in The Hustle trailer

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

The first trailer for THE HUSTLE, which serves as a female-led remake of Frank Oz's 1988 comedy DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, starring Steve Martin and Michael Caine, has arrived. Starring Anne Hathaway (LOVE & OTHER DRUGS, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES) and Rebel Wilson (PITCH PERFECT franchise, JOJO RABBIT), the upcoming film from director Chris Addison (IN THE LOOP, VEEP) tells the tale of when two down-and-out con artists who engage in a "loser leaves town" contest.

In the film, Hathaway plays a British con woman who spends her days swindling high-end materials from simple-minded and hormone-driven aristocrats, while Wilson uses her gifts of persuasion to coax club sandwiches and cakes from unsuspecting simpletons. After their fated meeting, both ladies team up to steal from the men who've done them dirty. However, it woud appear that Wilson's character could use a lesson or two in the art of the lie, and this is where Hathaway's seasoned skills come into play. Together, the two target a tech-savvy millionaire, who by the looks of it stands to lose more than his fortune if the women have their way.

THE HUSTLE boasts a screenplay written by contributing writers Stanely Shapiro, Paul Henning, Sale Launer, and Jac Schaefer, with Roger Birnbaum (GLASS, DEATH WISH) producing.

THE HUSTLE will arrive to swindle you out of your hard-earned dollars when it cons its way into theaters May 10, 2019.
