Anne Hathaway’s kaiju dramedy unveils new Colossal poster

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I can't wait for Nacho Vigalondo's (TIMECRIMES) new film, a mash-up between a modern mumblecore dramedy, and a rock-em-sock-em kaiju film, starring a game Anne Hathaway and Jason Sudeikis. It's just those genres are so incongruous at first glance, that I can't wait to see how the film pulls it off. And after seeing the aforementioned TIMECRIMES, I feel like it is in good hands.

Anyway, NEON – the distribution company behind the film – has released a new, stylish poster for the film:

Nice.

And here's the official plot synopsis:

Gloria (Anne Hathaway) is an out-of-work girl who, after getting kicked out of her apartment by her boyfriend, is forced to leave her life in New York and move back to her hometown. When news reports surface that a giant creature is destroying Seoul, South Korea, Gloria gradually comes to the realization that she is somehow connected to his far-off phenomenon. As events begin to spin out of control, Gloria must determine why her seemingly insignificant existence has such a colossal effect on the fate of the world.

Meanwhile, COLOSSAL will stomp through cities and complain about modern relationships April 7th, 2017.
