T.I. not returning for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

T.I., Ant-Man 3, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

T.I. played Dave in both Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp, a friend of of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) who, alongside Michael Pena's Luis and David Dastmalchian's Kurt, helped Lang out in his adventures. With the third installment of the Ant-Man franchise set to kick off production later this year, it would seem that T.I. won't be returning for more.

T.I. and his wife, Tameka Harris (Tiny), are currently facing allegations of sexual abuse, forced ingestion of illegal narcotics, kidnapping, false imprisonment, intimidation, assault, and harassment from multiple women. It's unclear if T.I. absence from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is related to these serious allegations or if his character was never slated to return in the first place. T.I. and Tiny have denied the allegations in a statement released through their lawyer.

Clifford (T.I.) and Tameka Harris deny in the strongest possible terms these unsubstantiated and baseless allegations. We are confident that if these claims are thoroughly and fairly investigated, no charges will be forthcoming. These allegations are nothing more than the continuation of a sordid shakedown campaign that began on social media. The Harrises implore everyone not to be to be taken in by these obvious attempts to manipulate the press and misuse the justice system.

VH1 also halted production on the reality show T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle last month due to the allegations. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has been penned by Jeff Loveness with Peyton Reed once again returning to the director's chair. Reed dropped a tease about the sequel last summer, saying that the "third Ant-Man movie is going to be a much bigger, more sprawling movie than the first two. It's going to have a very different visual template. That's all i will say." In addition to Paul Rudd, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is also slated to star Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, and Michelle Pfeiffer, where they'll be joined by Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror and Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang, daughter of Rudd's Scott Lang.
