Apparatus: Heated Rivalry star Hudson Williams and Dylan O’Brien to lead Sofia Banzhaf’s feature directorial debut

Hudson Williams, otherwise known as the guy who has more pictures of himself on the fridge in my kitchen than family and friends combined, is gearing up for another project, this time with Twinless and Teen Wolf star Dylan O’Brien. Hudson, who stars as hockey all-star Shane Hollander in Jacob Tierney’s Heated Rivalry, will star alongside O’Brien in Sofia Banzhaf’s (I Am in the World as Free and Slender as a Deer on a Plain) upcoming directorial debut, Apparatus.

What’s Apparatus about?

Banzhaf directs Apparatus, a thriller she wrote with Grayson Moore (Cardinals), following a struggling young rideshare driver, Tyler (Williams), as he falls under the influence of a self-styled entrepreneur, JP (O’Brien), who offers him a future in his handheld massager business. But what appears to be a dream opportunity unravels as JP pulls Tyler into a violent downward spiral.

What else has Hudson Williams got cooking?

Since making everyone sweat with his steamy Heated Rivalry performance, Williams is beating offers back with a stick. He’s currently filming Crave‘s 8-episode series Yaga, which reimagines the Baba Yaga myth. He also stars as Duncan Rheingans Yoo in The Altruists, a TV mini-series, and as the Drifter in Tristan C. Pina’s upcoming thriller Encore.

What’s on Dylan O’Brien’s hit list?

Meanwhile, Dyaln O’Brien just lit up the screen alongside Rachel McAdams in what folks are calling Sam Raimi’s best movie in years: the psychological horror film Send Help. O’Brien recently completed work on the Sian Heder-directed biographical drama Being Heuman, starring Mark Ruffalo, Lindsay Leese, Rob Delaney, and more. In Being Heuman, disability rights activist Judy Heumann leads a historic 28-day occupation of San Francisco’s Federal Building, uniting protesters in a fight for accessibility laws and equal rights. Finally, O’Brien stars alongside Mark Strong in David Petrarca’s upcoming drama, Marceau, which is in pre-production. Marceau tells the true story of Marcel Marceau and his involvement in the French Resistance.

I wasn’t kidding about Hudson Williams being on our refrigerator. My wife is positively obsessed with Heated Rivalry, so much so that we’re going to see Harrison perform live this coming Monday. Harrison appears on the Heated Rivalry soundtrack, and that performance is going to be sweaty!

I’m looking forward to it.
