When it comes to assembling a killer cast for a spirited spy thriller Matthew Vaughn knows how to get the job done right.

The good word has hit the bullpen that Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O'Hara, John Cena, and Samuel L. Jackson will star in Argylle, which is set to roll cameras this August in Europe. In addition to providing original music for the film, pop star Dua Lipa will also make her acting debut for the star-studded film.

The concept is based on the upcoming spy novel Argylle by author Ellie Conway. It follows “the world’s greatest spy” ‘Argylle’ as he is caught up in a globe-trotting adventure. Argylle will be the first in at least three films, with the adventure taking place in America, London, and other parts of the world.

Vaughn, who introduced spy thriller fans to his Kingsman film franchise, will direct from a script by Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman). Adam Bohling and David Reid, who've already collaborated with Vaughn on several film projects, will produce alongside Fuchs. Additionally, Carlos Peres, Claudia Vaughn, and Adam Fishbach will serve as executive producers.

“When I read this early draft manuscript I felt it was the most incredible and original spy franchise since Ian Fleming’s books of the 50s. This is going to reinvent the spy genre,” Matthew Vaughn said in a bold statement.

Zygi Kamasa, CEO of Marv added: “We are delighted that we will be starting our fourth and by far the biggest, feature film production since the start of the global pandemic. It demonstrates both our desire to scale up our production activity and our ambition to continue to launch new franchises beyond the Kingsman series of films.”

Hell yes! Not only is this cast amazing, but Vaughn has already proven that he's an old hat at making inventive spy thrillers. I'm totally down to see what Argylle is all about as details continue to be released.
