Arnie’s T-800 joins Mortal Kombat 11 in violent gameplay trailer

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

In addition to the usual Mortal Kombat fighters, Mortal Kombat X allowed players to download and fight as bonus characters like Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, a Predator, and a Xenomorph. Mortal Kombat 11 was released earlier this year, and it's following in its predecessor's footsteps, adding in downloadable characters like Spawn, the Joker, and the T-800 from the TERMINATOR franchise.

The T-800 is the focus of the gameplay trailer embedded above, in which the cyborg tears through his Mortal Kombat opponents. Sporting the likeness of Arnold Schwarzenegger in bearded TERMINATOR: DARK FATE mode, the T-800 is shown beating the hell out of characters like Jax, Scorpion, and Kano, blasting away at them with guns during their fights – he doesn't even wait until the Fatality to pull those weapons out. The character is reduced down to his metal endoskeleton at one point, at another he destroys a character's testicles with his boot. These 3 minutes of fighting are quite a sight to behold.

The T-800 is part of the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack that is now available to purchase for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The character will become available to play as of October 8th.

The bearded T-800 will be reaching the big screen in live action soon after, as TERMINATOR: DARK FATE is scheduled to be released on November 1st.

Directed by Tim Miller from a screenplay by David S. Goyer, Justin Rhodes, and Billy Ray, TERMINATOR: DARK FATE stars Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Natalia Reyes, Mackenzie Davis, Diego Boneta, Gabriel Luna, and Edward Furlong.

Acknowledging the events of THE TERMINATOR and TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY but ignoring the other sequels, the new film finds that Sarah Connor is now

a grizzled lone wolf who must team up with a mechanically enhanced female soldier to protect another young woman targeted by Terminators.

Franchise creator James Cameron returned to produce DARK FATE, and also crafted the story with Goyer, Rhodes, Charles Eglee, and Josh Friedman.
