Avatar Japan trailer

I guess I’m gonna keep on plugging this damn AVATAR flick until Jimmy Cameron gives me a walk on in his next project. Yesterday we gave you a link to a pretty cool TV spot for the epic world-colliding Sci-Fi fantasy. Well, today we have a Japanese trailer for the thing, and it’s more or less a compendium of footage we’ve seen thus far. It fuses some of the TV spot dialogue with that of the official trailer, at the same time offering some new eye-candy visuals and gaudy CG creations.

Helming his first movie in a dozen years (yes, it’s been that long since Leo was making girlies drop their drawers in TITANIC), James Cameron has comprised his latest work of 40% live action and 60% photo-realistic CGI (a lot of motion capture technology was used for the CGI scenes). The best footage we’ve seen strikes the right balance between the two mediums (as in the clip below).

I feel like we’ve run down the plotline adnauseum here, so instead we’ll recap the cast of this beast. We’ve got Sam Worthington in the paraplegic lead, surrounded by Zoe Saldana (below), Michelle Rodriguez, Sigourney Weaver, Giovanni Ribisi, Stephen Lang, CCH Pounder (one of the best names in the biz), Joel Moore, Dileep Rao, Laz Alonso, Wes Studi, James Pitt, and Amy Clover.

AVATAR orbits the globe December 18th.
