Avatar runtime revealed

Yup, I really wouldn’t know what to do with myself if I didn’t have a damn AVATAR update to break for y’all. And no, this time we don’t have any cool BTS featurettes, sweet trailers, new photos, or even lame ass one sheets (ahem, France). No, what we have tonight is a runtime briefing. Yes, we finally know how long Jimmy Cameron’s long imagined visual opus will be.

And the runtime is…wait for it…a brisk two and half hours. Or if you wanna get anal about it, the flick looks to run about 156 minutes with all the credits included (so says top distribution brass at 20th Century Fox Bruce Snyder).

After long speculation that the flick would broach the 3 hour mark (as we alluded to in a blood spill only yesterday), it makes financial and technological sense to have a truncated runtime (as shorter films play more times on screen, the all important Imax runs included).

No word yet on how many screens AVATAR will play on – but the plan seems to run the shite round the clock on the first few days and then scale it back to normal exhibition slots in the following days.

Will keep you abreast!

Speaking of breasts…
