The next chapter of the Avatar Legends universe is almost here! The all-new animated series, brought to life by Avatar: The Last Airbender co-creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, premieres globally on Paramount+ on Friday, October 9. The release schedule kicks off with a three-episode premiere, followed by episodes 4–6 on October 16, episodes 7–9 on October 23, and the final stretch of episodes 10–13 landing on October 30. A Bold New Visual Style
This new series marks the latest multi-chapter adventure in the beloved Avatar franchise, continuing the rich legacy built by Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. Visually, the show takes a bold turn with a refined, chibi-esque art style reminiscent of the cel-shaded, post-apocalyptic aesthetic seen in Shedworks’ indie game Sable. Despite the stylistic departure, Seven Havens looks gorgeous, and I’m genuinely intrigued by this new cast of characters.
Set a staggering 225 years after the events of The Legend of Korra, the setting leaves me eager to see how the world, culture, and bending disciplines have evolved over two centuries of dramatic upheaval. It truly warms my heart to know the original creators are still actively crafting stories in the sprawling universe they built, and this fresh perspective might be exactly what the franchise needs to feel brand new again.
