Avatar Thenator clip

Any ardent Arrow reader knows of my diligent and somewhat shameless plugging for Jimmy Cameron’s game-changing visual foray AVATAR. And what’s it been, a whole 5 or 6 days since I’ve threw the flick, one I’m frankly not even that stoked on seeing, a bit of promo love? Long overdue you might say!

Well the absence ends today. Right now. Because what we have is a cool little 30 second clip, dubbed by 20th Century Fox as a Thenatar Chase. To those wondering, “what the fu*k is a Thenatar,” I can only offer this: a creature of Pandora tantamount to Earth’s prehistoric dinosaurs. At least, that’s how the damn thing looks in the clip (which you can cop a look at underneath!)

Sorry folks, but I’m gonna beat the shit out of a dead-horse plotline:

In the future, Jake, a paraplegic war veteran, is brought to another planet, Pandora, which is inhabited by the Na’vi, a humanoid race with their own language and culture. Those from Earth find themselves at odds with each other and the local culture.

You know, as stunning and groundbreaking as the visual effects look in the film, it’s the live action interplay between Giovanni Ribisi and Sigourney Weaver that we’ve seen in various clips and trailers that, for whatever reason, has me the most intrigued. Don’t know, maybe it’s my unhealthy obsession with all things Ripley!!!

What amps YOU the most about Cameron’s latest picture?

Peer through the AVATAR on December 18th.
