San Diego Comic-Con is near. While the marketing for Dune: Part Three has been heating up with a new trailer and poster, Marvel has been waiting to hit their trusty Hall H at this year’s convention. However, they also recently unveiled artwork for Avengers: Doomsday over the weekend at the Shanghai Expo, along with some other teases by Kevin Feige himself. However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Studios is planning to announce the start of ticket sales ahead of their Hall H presentation next week, on July 20, for its Infinity Vision format (which is a format said to combat Warner Bros.’ stranglehold on IMAX screens when Dune: Part Three opens up on the same day).
According to Disney, Infinity Vision will set a new benchmark for theatrical presentation, with a focus on the largest screens for maximum scale, laser projection for superior brightness and clarity, and premium audio formats for fully immersive sound.
“The goal of Infinity Vision is to help audiences identify the best theatrical experience,” reads the press release. “Beginning with the September re-release of Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame and followed by the highly anticipated December release of Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday, audiences will be able to seek out Infinity Vision-certified screens and see the film on the grandest possible scale, exactly as intended.“
Runtime
The announcement of the ticket sales is also said to come with an announcement of the film’s official runtime. The film’s final runtime has been tapped to be at 165 minutes (2 hours and 45 minutes). This means Doomsday will be longer than Infinity War‘s 149 minutes, but shorter than Endgame at 181 minutes.
The cast of Avengers: Doomsday is vast, with the officially announced cast including Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, Simi Liu as Shang-Chi, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Kelsey Grammer as Hank McCoy, Lewis Pullman as Bob, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen as Erik Lehnsherr, Alan Cumming as Kurt Wagner, Rebecca Romijn as Raven Darkhölme, James Marsden as Scott Summers, Channing Tatum as Remy LeBeau, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, and Robert Downey Jr. as Victor von Doom.
Avengers: Endgame will be re-released (with new footage) in theaters on September 25 in Infinity Vision, followed by Avengers: Doomsday on December 18.
