Awesome fan-made Expendables trailer gets yanked by the MPPA, but why?

How’d y’all dig that fan-made EXPENDABLES trailer we posted yesterday? That shite was the tits, right? Apparently the MPAA didn’t think so!

According to the L.A. Times’ 24 frames per second blog, The Motion Picture Association of America took serious umbrage with the faux-trailer for having suggested false claims regarding their advert involvement with Sly’s newest actioner. As a spokesman for the MPAA put it:

“We don’t normally get involved, but there was a shot in the trailer that suggested it had been submitted for approval by our advertising review board, and it hadn’t.”

About the quick obscenity seen at the end of the clip, the same spokesman claimed it had some bearing but that it was “not the main reason” for the pull.

Haha, weird. Normally it’s the studio that gets all bent out of shape when a fan-made trailer steals its thunder, but the MPAA stepping in? It just seems strange and a bit out of their jurisdiction. Granted, if their allegations are founded, then good for them. It’s just a bit odd that the same organization that neuters damn near every film we see is now assuming control over content we make. Don’t think I’m too down with this…what says you?!?

EXPENDABLES hottie Charisma Carpenter!
