We all knew that Ben Whishaw was set for a role in SKYFALL, but were not sure what exactly that would be. It was heavily rumored that he would take on the role of Q, Bond’s gadget master. The last time that the character was in the franchise was in 2002’s DIE ANOTHER DAY when the role was played by John Cleese. Before that, Desmond Llewelyn played the role for 36 years.
This will be the second time that Whishaw co-stars with Daniel Craig. They were last seen together in 2004’s LAYER CAKE, which I happen to love. Great soundtrack.
Synopsis: Daniel Craig is back as James Bond 007 in Skyfall, the 23rd adventure in the longest-running film franchise of all time. In Skyfall, Bond’s loyalty to M (Judi Dench) is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
