Biel for Thor role?

JoBloJoBlo

When Kenneth Branagh’s feature version of Marvel’s Thunder God THOR lands in theaters, will earthbound goddess Jessica Biel and her astonishing physique be part of the scene?

Nuke the Fridge claims that Biel is “in talks” for an unknown role in the project (which, speaking of unknowns, stars Aussie Chris Hemsworth as the titular Mjolnir-thrower). While a body like hers really deserves a superhero franchise of its very own, speculation is that Biel could be Thor’s modern-day love interest (or that of mortal alter-ego Donald Blake), or one of the Asgardian characters such as the devious Enchantress or the warrior woman Sif (given her glorious guns, I’d hope for the latter).

I have no idea how accurate this rumor is, but I’ll leap at any opportunity to discuss Biel… And while I respect her desire to do “serious acting”, a number of her recent movies (POWDER BLUE, EASY VIRTUE, HOME OF THE BRAVE) haven’t exactly been box office gold, so it would be nice to see her in a big-budget summer flick that isn’t NEXT.

The production is gearing up now for a May 2011 release, so casting should come together soon. The official THOR synopsis from Marvel Studios: “This epic adventure spans the Marvel Universe; from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.”
