We’ve been keeping you abreast of Andrew Niccol’s new sci-fi thriller, previously called I’M.MORTAL, for about six months now…ever since the project was announced. Along the way, we’ve noted the inclusion of Amanda Seyfried, Justin Timberlake, Cillian Murphy, Vincent Kartheiser and Olivia Wilde. Now it seems Niccol has reached for a star from TV’s “The Big Bang Theory!”
Deadline reports Johnny Galecki (right), who will always be David from Roseanne or Ira from SUICIDE KINGS to me, has joined the cast of Niccol’s latest. Word is he’ll portray the best friend of T-lake’s character.
Set in the not-too-distant future, the aging gene has been switched off. To avoid overpopulation, time has become the currency and the way people pay for luxuries and necessities. The rich can live forever, while the rest try to negotiate for their immortality.
Storyline follows a rebel from the ghetto (Timberlake) who is falsely accused of murdering a wealthy man for his time, and goes on the run with a beautiful hostage (Seyfried).
Set for an unspecified 2012 release window, Niccol’s new film will also star Shyloh Oostwald, Collins Penny and Elena Satine (rumored).
Keep attuned.
