Dude tryin’ to pull a Ronny Reagan or what?

I remember a specific occasion or two, in the wake of Obama’s inauguration, when Will Smith not only expressed interest in running for U.S. President one day, but declared rather confidently that he would win. Well, here’s a start.

Recently chatting with MTV, tent-pole director Roland Emmerich (ID4, 2012) dropped hint that Big Willy’s return to a 2nd and 3rd INDEPENDENCE DAY sequel will seat in this nation’s highest office. Check it…

About ID4-EVER & ID4-EVER Part 2 (tentative titles):

“It’s an alternate reality kind of movie,” said Emmerich. “We pick up the story, what would have happened after this kind of attack? Naturally, the alien technology has changed everything.”

When asked who will be president, Roland responded:

“Or, who will be president?” Emmerich answered. “Who will be president? See?”

Like I said, Emmerich is all about hints right now. However, stressing the “Will” to a multisyllabic Chris Walken delivery pretty much tips his hand, wouldn’t ya say?

And what to ya say about Big Willy in the Whitehouse? A good move or do you not care either way given ID4 came out almost 15 years ago?
