Fresh off his Pebble Beach pro-am win earlier this month, it looks like Bill Murray is still in the script reading business. The 60 year old seemingly has not a single film in development, save for GHOSTBUSTERS 3, the overly long-gestating project that hangs over his head like a goddamn axe. Well folks, another script update is what we have for ya, but don’t be surprised if the waiting game continues…
Per a Digital Spy article, Bill Murray has received the newest draft of the GHOSTBUSTERS 3 script. Problem is, no one’s sure he’s yet read it.
“He’s seen it and we’re waiting to hear,” Reitman said.
Perhaps more informative is Reitman’s NO STRINGS ATTACHED lead Ashton Kutcher, adding: “He’s seen the cover of it.”
With a laugh, Reitman then quipped: “Thanks for putting it so well…fingers crossed!”
When asked, Reitman then said Ashton Kutcher is “absolutely possible” to play one of the newfangled Ghostbusters. I’m sure that was me politeness, then again I hear Reitman isn’t the warmest cat, so…
More speculation really. I’ve said it numerous times, I’m wholeheartedly in agreement with Murray. F*ck a third GHOSTBUSTERS flick. And especially f*ck it if they bring in a new generation of emo-lookers without a discernible shred of comedic timing. I can see it now, Taylor Lautner as Peter Venkman’s nephew…please, get the f*ck out of here.
