After years of speculation, it has finally been decided: Bill Murray will be in Paul Feig’s new GHOSTBUSTERS movie. Thank f*ckin Christ.

I can’t even begin to link to all of the articles over the years concerning the “will he or won’t he?” drama revolving around Murray and the new GHOSTBUSTERS (or GHOSTBUSTERS 3, before Feig and his ladies became involved), but I probably don’t have to. Everyone is by now familiar with the notion Murray has been very hesitant to reprise his role as Peter Venkman, and it just about become accepted that he wouldn’t strap on the proton pack ever again.

But now The Hollywood Reporter is confirming that Murray will indeed appear in the horror-comedy reboot, which is currently filming around the Boston area. The size of his role hasn’t been disclosed (nor is it 100% that he’ll even be playing Venkman), but we can assume it’ll function more as a cameo than supporting turn. Will we also see Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson?

Also starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Chris Hemsworth, GHOSTBUSTERS will be released on July 15, 2016.
