Bill Skarsgard & Maika Monroe are Villains in new home invasion thriller

One of my favorite performances of last year was, duh, Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise The Dancing Clown in director Andy Muschietti's take on STEPHEN KING'S IT. It is with this in mind that I have been keeping a close eye on what role Skarsgard will take on next (other than Hulu's CASTLE ROCK).

And today I have my answer as Skarsgard has just joined Maika Monroe (IT FOLLOWS) in writer-directing team Dan Berk and Robert Olsen's darkly comedic home invasion thriller VILLAINS.

The film follows the tale of "a pair of amateur criminals who, after breaking into a suburban home, stumble upon a dark secret and two sadistic homeowners who will do anything to keep it from getting out." And that sounds like just the right amount of Wes Craven's THE PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS to get my blood flowing.

Berk and Olsen (who's VILLAINS script was on the 2016 Black List) previously wrote, produced and directed BODY for Oscilloscope Laboratories, and directed THE STAKELANDER, a sequel to Jim Mickle's Stake Land.

Are you excited about Bill Skarsgard (IT) teaming up with Maika Monroe (IT FOLLOWS)? Make sure to hit us up and let us know in the comments below or on social media.

VILLAINS is produced by Tim and Trevor White, along with Allan Mandelbaum, and Garrick Dion. Aaron L. Gilbert and Jason Cloth are executive producers with Rick Rickertsen and Mary Solomon co-producing.

We'll let you know when we hear more!
