If you hunger for the full WATCHMEN experience (and why wouldn’t you?), then you have to see the animated companion piece “Tales of the Black Freighter.” I’m a little disappointed though that this direct-to-DVD animated film is being released more than two weeks after the film (on March 24). Couldn’t we get it the Tuesday before the film is released? And what about a limited theatrical run. It would be awesome to be able to see the “Black Freighter” tale and then go right into WATCHMEN. Oh well. The trailer is online, courtesy MTV, and it looks pretty bad-ass anyway you slice it. Check it out below.
