News of this being the final season of Black-ish has been floating around for a while now. Its current season 7 ratings are a bit soft but since the show is critically acclaimed and has a loyal fanbase, ABC wanted to give the comedy series one last hurrah to wrap things up properly. Black-ish is a top 10 comedy and an awards season favorite, having also garnered multiple Emmy nominations as well as a prestigious Peabody. What’s more, the single-camera comedy about an upper-class Black family has also become a valuable franchise for Disney with a third possible spinoff, Old-ish, in development and written by Barris. Grown-ish, originally developed for ABC, has become a signature hit for Disney’s younger-skewing cable network Freeform. Prequel spinoff Mixed-ish, about a young version of Tracee Ellis Ross’ Rainbow, learned its fate yesterday that it was canceled after two seasons.

Black-ish has remained relevant because it doesn't back away from addressing real issues through a comedic lens. It's honestly one of the best network comedies on TV and it will be sad to see it go. Black-ish stars Anthony Anderson as Andre “Dre” Johnson, Tracee Ellis Ross as Rainbow Johnson, Yara Shahidi as Zoey Johnson, Marcus Scribner as Andre Johnson Jr., Miles Brown as Jack Johnson, Marsai Martin as Diane Johnson, Laurence Fishburne as Pops, Jenifer Lewis as Ruby, Peter Mackenzie as Mr. Stevens, Deon Cole as Charlie Telphy and Jeff Meacham as Josh.

Are YOU sad to see Black-ish go?
